Yeah @adrienne and I have been kicking around for a long time 😉 Started pmachinehosting.com with Rick when it was just Rick writing pMachine. We had a lot of fun when Paul Burdick came on board on the pMachine side.. ah the early days of this platform… But yeah I don’t think we have too many sites still running EE v1, still a lot of old sites running EE v2 for sure thought on VPS servers that really should not be online anymore (or EE v1 and v2 for that matter…) Glad you still remember where the paths were in EEv1 @adrienne 🎉

also thank @tomjaeger for literally still having the EE v1 docs up on the website (although it turns out they are incomplete wrt control panel settings)!

Unfortunately not 100% there. Even thought the backend has form it isn’t the full version that was there. Not everything is flushed out and still running into issues, such as side nav not working and I can’t edit it because EE isn’t pulling in correctly.

So here is an example of what is going on. The backend is not fully rendering so the fields are all jacked up. Meanwhile this what it looks like on the site because of that.

Running an ancient version of EE on a new server is an interesting challenge (ask me how I know… my CP looks very much like that right now ; ). Turn on all of the error reporting in all of the places so you can see what’s getting jacked - you’ve probably got modern php trying to figure out how to interpret hieroglyphics. It’s not even possible to roll back php in cPanel that far anymore.

i may be able to help but depending on how jacked up stuff is you might be talking about paid work, unfortunately

Well, jacked up might be a relative term. LOL Looking at the filed for the side links in the screenshot I shared. It isn’t showing any of the field for the entry in order to edit it. I think that is the reason it is broken on the actual site. EE is not fully rendering so it is not pulling that data correctly onto the site. I think.

@Preston Feiler Yeah, so it looks like there’s a plugin failing somewhere; that’s a serialized array in the field. What field type is that Sidebar Links field supposed to be?

This is what the source looks like, what it should look like on the page and then what it looks like now. I believe on the entry side it is just title and link. Not sure if I answered your question.

Also, this might be part of the problem. When I click on Modules in the backend of the site, I get a blank page.

Okay, so that points to a PHP error, @Preston Feiler - this is diagnosable (although whether it’s fixable or not depends on a lot of things). It would probably be easier to move this to a DM?
