Password protect a template, but NOT require membership?

How Do I?

What is a quick and easy way to password protect an EE template? It’s a form where I need the user to not be logged in to use it. But I don’t want the world to access it (and want to be a bit more confident than trusting robots.txt). I don’t need Fort Knox level security.

To avoid the long boring explanation..

a) form needs to be submitted, specifically, by not-logged-in user b) but somehow restricted otherwise (e.g. htaccess htpasswd - but that seems to protect physicall directories and not url ‘routes’)

So the solution to this puzzle was a group effort. Rus was pretty sure it DID do URI routes, so a bit more experimenting was done and:

“10 Google results were in that category. 9 didn’t work” - HA!

And it was also decided the GB Gated Content add-on would likely do the trick as well.
