Couple questions.
The way the folderst are created is very counter intuitive. since it’s done automatically there’s no way to stop it. Now let’s say i upload a picture, and over the next several days i upload 10 more. How am I suppose to get back to the first one if I don’t remember (which nobody will)? I have to manually browse through the folders.
I can’t find any reason to even need to automatically make dated folders. I dont see a benefit, but i do see some pretty serious cons (mentioned).
is there a way to disable this?
Second, i also don’t think I’m crazy about the fact that there is no community images. I don’t want my authors to constantly upload duplicate images. The folder creation, and fact that they’re by user in folders is going to really promote duplicate uploads.
any plan or way to change this?
FYI i’m not knocking the extension. i really like it. I’m just hoping to overcome these issues to make it efficient for both the server admin, and users.
Thanks for the reply Max Lazar & affirmative to the idea that TinyBrowser could be used with the Photo Gallery Module and New Entry.
Figuring the integration is probably beyond my abilities, however I may give it a try. AND I have started a new topic in How To in case anyone else is interested in this modification and wants to collaborate or share:
JT Thompson I just don’ understand the request - u need a share folder?
Is the question what did you have in Weblog Administration › Field Groups › Custom Fields › you field
Upload Root Folders
Upload Sub FoldersIf u don’t need the automatic date folders - why did you setup it? 😊
THanks for the update.
I think I found one other bug with uploading video files in the standalone. When I try to upload Flash .flv files it acts like it uploads but when I got to the Browse tab the video is not there and I tried refreshing to see if its there in the FTP but its not. And I have added a .flv extension to the file types in the preferences.

0.1.4.a - is available.
Fixed issue with matrix new row and add a couple changes by Twobelowzero wishes.
Hey Max, thanks for the excellent plugin. I am using the 0.1.4a version. I am using the (TinyMCE + Tiny Browser) mode. When I browse the images in the Tiny Browser window , clicking on the image should place the link in the Insert/Edit Image window. But for me nothing happens when I click the image. Am I missing something?
@JT Thompson: I am on FF 3.5.3. Havent tried in IE yet.
@Max: Firebug shows this:
tinyMCEPopup is not defined tinybrowser.js.php?feid=field_id_18()tinybrow…eld_id_18 (line 30) [Break on this error] tinyMCEPopup.onInit.add(FileBrowserDialogue.init, FileBrowserDialogue);\ntinybrow…eld_id_18 (line 30)
rowHighlight is not defined function onload(event) { rowHighlight(); }(load )tinybrow…nt/seq/68 (line 2) [Break on this error] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML…3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd”>\ntinybrow…eld_id_18 (line 1)
tinyMCEPopup is not defined [Break on this error] var win = tinyMCEPopup.getWindowArg(“window”);\ntinybrow…eld_id_18 (line 13)
The path seems to be correct. It leads up to the folder containing tiny_mce_popup.js. For me, it is www.site.com/site/scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce
And the global script points to: http://www.site.com/scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js
By the way, same issue exists in Safari also.
Nope. It shows up as http://www.site.com/site/scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tin_mcetiny_mce_popup.js instead of www.site.com/site/scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce_popup.js
Fixed it! Should have added the forward slash at the end of the path in “URL to your TinyMCE folder”. Thanks 😊
