Very nice extension. Thanks for releasing it out into the wild.

I adore Cocoaholic for making this extension. It makes my life so much easier and I wish I’d seen it before.
That is all and thanks again! I will be sure to pimp this to the skies!

Has anyone had issues getting the extension to work. I’ve been following the latest jambor-ee.com postings and thought I’d load this extension. Sadly, I get the following error when I try to open the publish control panel:
MySQL ERROR:
Error Number: 1064
Description: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '3,4,1,2,5)' at line 1
Query: SELECT group_name FROM exp_category_groups WHERE group_id IN (,3,4,1,2,5)So, I cranked up Zend Studio to see if I could work my way through this quickly. What I found in my error case, was that the function “fetch_group_name” is called where:
$cat_group = $row['cat_group'];returns
$cat_group = "|3|4|1|2|5"Then:
$group_ids = str_replace('|', ',', $cat_group);produces
SELECT group_name FROM exp_category_groups WHERE group_id IN (,3,4,1,2,5)Is this an issue with my DB, or should the str_replace line be adjusted to handle this situation? Something else?

Hi,
This could be a small EE bug / ehm… feature.
I just checked and the problem is as follows:
When selecting category groups for a weblog it is possible to select multiple groups, but also select the first item “none”.
If you do this the database is actually updated with the category group id’s as well as one empty item, the first one.
You can correct this now by visiting the group settings for your weblog and clicking ‘submit’ again (without selecting the ‘none’ item in the list)
I will add a workaround for this problem tomorrow.

lodonnell, the problem should be fixed now, just download the extension again. (version 1.1.2)

Victor,
Download the latest version (top of this thread).
This issue was fixed in 1.1.1
Cheers!

Works nicely for me. Thanks for doing this, it’s much more usable!
Hopefully, this will be standard or configurable in future versions of EE.

Amen. Multi-select boxes are a huge pain to deal with. At least give us the option built-in. Also, I love that this extension utilises labels. EE is by far the most accessible CMS I’ve toyed with. Of course, I’m not a CMS guru but EE requires very little tweaking on my part but when I do it’s relatively easy and straightforward. 😊

I’d vote for that!

Excellent extension. This would be a nice option in future EE updates. This option is very “client friendly” for selecting multiple categories.
Thanks!

I just installed this for the first time on a recent build. Works great! Thanks, Cocoaholic. Happy Holidays.

I just downloaded it and got v 1.1.1. Also, I couldn’t click on the settings link as it is looking for a lang file with is not in the archive.

I second that - the language file is not included, which gives an error when the settings button is clicked.
