Does anyone have a way to get this working on an SAEF?

Hi, this is a great extensions. A big improvement on the default category list. I have one question, though. Can you show me how I can disable multiple selections temporarily? And is there a way to possibly tie the available categories to the User’s group? We’re running into a problem where we only want specific users to be able to cross-post to multiple categories; but if that’s not possible, we’d like to temporarily disable multiple selections ‘till we iron things out. Thanks.

With permission from Cocoaholic I’m posting some modifications I made to the extension. It lets you select which weblog you’d like to display radio boxes for instead of checkboxes. It’s on a per weblog basis, not category group.
The DC Required Category extension gets the same results, except you have to post the page to get a user message.

Is there a way to get the same checkbox schema to appear in the Stand Alone Entry Form for front-end users? Thank you!

I’ve used this (excellent!) extension on several sites but this new one is throwing an error when I enable it:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 111456 bytes) in /../ext.ez_category_checkboxes.php on line 286I’m using 1.1.5 and EE 1.6.8 but the site is running PHP 4 if that makes a difference. It’s kind of a drag but I can’t upgrade to 5.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ed

Well, I have to ask as well 😉 Has anyone used this in a SAEF? Thanks,

You don’t need to use this in a SAEF. Just use the weblog:categories tags and generate a LOT of checkboxes with fieldname[], so you can multiple select.
Just like any other form, only you’re populating it with all your category data.
Like so.
{exp:weblog:categories weblog="products" category_group="4" style="nested" class="category_list"}
<input type="checkbox" name="category[]" value="{category_id}">{category_name}

I’m wondering if/when this will be available for EE 2.0/2.1? Or if it’ll be irrelevant in the 2.0/2.1 releases?

bump—wondering if/when you’ll have an edition available for the latest version of EE.

This isn’t needed anymore in EE2; this is EE2’s native category selection interface.

We’ve discontinued the development of this extension. However, feel free to dive in. The entire source code is on Github:
