Textile footnotes problem

Hi - I’m adding Textile footnote links to a site using the Textile Plugin (1.1.1 - 2.0.0 r2779) on EE 1.6.4 Build 20080829 and having problem with the generated footnote links.

[1]

renders as

<sup class="footnote"><a href="#fn149789373548ea37f39a5ed">1</a></sup>

when it should be

<sup class="footnote"><a href="#fn1">1</a></sup>

The actual footnotes work fine with

fn1.

rendering correctly as

<sup>1</sup>

Any ideas, ‘cos I’m really stumped!
