Oh, and a side-note for anyone else using this extension - make sure you configure your URLs as soon as you enable the extension… this will prevent numerous complaints from the client, and hours of debugging frustration wondering why the hell users are being taken to a blank page upon login. It seems so obvious, now. =|
I’m liking this extension. I’m actually looking for something like it that redirects users away from the “you’re now activated” message they get after they click on the link in the auto-email. I hate leaving my users stranded on a system message instead of taking them back to the site(s) to login.
Thoughts on how to accomplish this?
FYI, this extension doesn’t work on my system if I also have Redirect After Login installed.
I love the extension - very simple and useful! However, I’ve noticed it seems to mess with the discussion forum add-on. When First Timer is enabled, if I’m logged out of my site and I’m on my forum (www.example.com/forum) and try to log in - I’m redirected back to the homepage of my site (www.example.com).. instead of the forum itself. If I disable this extension and try logging in while within the forum, I’m properly redirected to the forum in logged in state. So there’s obviously a conflict somewhere.
Does anyone know a way that I can mod either my forum or this extension to allow it not to redirect forum logins to the homepage of my site (www.example.com)
I can’t get it to work in 1.6.8 either. I checked the database and no matter what I do the “first_time” field in “exp_members” does not get updated. I am using a standalone login page with the following form:
<form action='http://mysite/system/index.php?S=0&C=login&M=auth' method='post'>Update: I made it work using this login form login form tag
Thanks for this extension!
