Problems with database structure after upgrading Expression Engine from v4 to v7

How Do I?

I updated the version using the official documentation. After the upgrade, the database structure changed and some system components that use the EE database stopped working. For example, the exp_member_groups table is missing. Is there documentation on data migration?

Member Groups are replaced by Member Roles (primary and otherwise). Existing members get Member Roles matching their old member groups, so there’s no data migration necessary beyond what the updater does.

Make sure to update all your third-party add-ons, and that any custom add-ons use the new Member Role model.

Hello @ geometry dash breeze, if you are facing issues after upgrading your system version and encountering missing tables like exp_member_groups in ExpressionEngine (EE), I think you should address this through proper data migration and potentially database schema updates. Data migration documentation can be vital in such scenarios to ensure a smooth transition and to fix any missing or altered database structures.
