Possible to automatically log user in after they register?

Does anyone know if its possible to have a user “auto login” after filling out a new member registration form? Meaning they register, hit submit, and it takes them to a dashboard and they are logged in etc. Because as of right now, I can only get them to register and then they have to manually login with the login form.

If the member settings allow ‘no activation required’, they should be automatically logged in and returned to the homepage upon successful frontend registration.
