I’m not sure when it started, maybe after upgrading to 6.4.11, but all of my blog posts are now showing the “Commenting for this entry has expired” message at the bottom. Comments previously made are still being displayed, though the most recent comment is from 2019 (4 years ago). It’s never been a very active website for comments, so that isn’t all that startling, but it could mean that the issue has been around for longer than I realized.
In the control panel, the comment module is enabled. I don’t know where else to look for the issue. Can anyone suggest how to fix this?
Thank you. The Comment expiration is set to 0, but I found that Allow comments was disabled for the whole channel, which was why I didn’t see a setting for that in the individual entries. Now that I’ve enabled it for the channel, I can go back and enable it for the individual entries.
I must have disabled it a while back when I was getting too much spam. I’ll have to hope that the spammers have forgotten about me, or find some sort of spam prevention add-on.
It’s been a while since I enabled comments for any sites, but in that time, I just added the native EE Captcha.
The Hinder add-on is pretty neat too, and super cheap.
