How Do I?

I used EE back in v1-3 and have been away a long time. Just downloaded and did a fresh install for a new project and ran into issues straight away. I used the wizard to check server compatibility and all checked out fine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

See attached image of error screen.

It looks like something might be up with your PHP installation. Ctype is bundled with the PHP core so we don’t check for it in the compatibility wizard.

Is there a chance you built PHP on the server with it explicitly disabled? https://www.php.net/manual/en/ctype.installation.php

Thanks for taking the time to respond Bryan. I’m on a shared hosting plan with my hosting service and there’s automated PHP installs. I’m trying to investigate the ctype thing but I’ve not found anything to suggest it’s disabled by default. Is there something else this could be? Is there a way to bypass this?

Thought I’d just mention real quick, that it might be a config change that the host can change real quick if you open a support ticket.

Thanks,
