EEConf 2024 is around the corner! EEConf 2024
Hello all,
I’ve recently migrated a new customer where the ExpressionEngine is used but with the version 2.9.2 (Really Old).
Is it possible to migrate from 2.9.2 to the latest version and keep design/document/pages ?
Because, my concerns are:
I had to build a container with php 5.6/apache2, and I would like to migrate to something more secured and maintained.
Thanks a lot,
Brice
There shouldn’t be a problem, but that mainly depends on the addons used. To go forward, i’d suggest you first review the addons installed (and if they are used), and update those or uninstall. Mind you, be cautious uninstalling because it could cause data loss. Then i would manually update to EE 2.11.9 (which is, i think the latest EE2 version) after which you could be switching to PHP7.0. Once you are there, you should be able to use the one click updater to go from 2 to 7 It might be possible to try that directly, so without updating the EE2 version to latest, but i’ve always done it like this
