How to upload a txt file to the root directory

Is it possible within EE to upload a file, specifically a .txt file for Google Analytics, to the root directory? Or will I have to go through the web host’s control panel?

You probably can add “root” upload directory in the file manager, but I would’t recommend it - it is not safe in my opinion.

are you the dev, could you use ftp instead of the host cp?
