Old old OLD school EE question - file locations from "app version" 140

How Do I?

I have a backup of a site I ran around 2003/2004. I had done a fancy bit of css on it that I’m trying to duplicate, but css has come so far and gotten so complicated, I wanted to just have a look at the old tiny stylesheet. My problem is that apparently I was running this site using ee/pmachine.

I have the entire directory tree, plus the database backup; does anyone remember where ee used to keep templates/stylesheet info?

(Screenshots included for informational purposes and also because stuff this old is funny.)

Thanks in advance!

Boy, I don’t remember. I think I used to keep my css as static files and link to it.

A couple of things you might try- see if the waybackmachine has a version anywhere.

No luck there, try a project search for something ‘cssy’. And if that doesn’t work, open up the database file and search it.

It’s just been so long and I don’t still have a copy up. But I also think I tended to use static assets unless I had a good reason not to, so it would just be in the file system in that case.

Hey Robin, thanks for looking! I actually found the piece of css I was looking for on the web - bless Eric Meyer for leaving that demo up all these years. 😊 The css file search on my archive hd had 1700+ files on it… fun trip down memory lane but jeez I’m a packrat.

It was the background image fixed thing that’s actually 4 different images here:

Cheers everyone!
