Is 6.1 mostly the same as 6.0 when it comes to add-ons or extension compatibility?

I ask because most add-ons still list them as 6 compatible which I assume means all 6 versions such as 6.x or should I wait until those developers make them specifically compatible for 6.1?

I assume most things that work in EE 6 should work without changes in 6.1

Your best bet for such stuff is to look at the EE Changelog.

A quick squint at that doesn’t suggest there are any significant changes that would break any EE6 add-ons, but possibly some features were introduced that might not be backward compatible (e.g. relating to Cookie handling).

Like JCOGS said you can manually check the changelog. However, we try to follow symantic versioning and thus if we release something that would break add-ons it would most likely be in a new major version.
