Are there any plans to make the Wiki Module compatible again with Expression Engine?

https://expressionengine.com/add-ons/wiki

It stopped working when I upgraded from 5 to 6. I assume it’s also not compatible with the latest 6.1

We were just talking yesterday how some of the add-ons previously released by Ellis Lab are not compatible with 6. We’re putting a plan together for these and will let everyone know. thanks.

It would be nice if official add-ons are always checked before releasing major versions.

One of the reason I and others use the forums or wiki modules is because we expected them to always work and be compatible, as opposed to third-party add-ons. I don’t think it requires a lot of changes in the code to make it work, it’s just failing in some SQL queries related to the new member role system, which are missing.

Is there some GitHub issue we can keep track of this?

Any news about this? I use the Wiki as internal documentation, and it cannot be used with Expression Engine since I upgraded. The forum and wiki module are probably the 2 most important official Expression Engine add-ons. Since EE 5 is being retired should it maybe not be time to make the module compatible with Expression Engine?

@vw000, I wanted to come back here and make sure you saw that the Wiki module had been released for v6. https://expressionengine.com/add-ons/wiki.

Thank you, Andy!

I did check on GitHub and the add-ons page a few days ago, and noticed there was an update in the version changelog but I decided not to ask because the version still said until supported until version 5 and last update was still 6 years ago.

This is great news. I will update and reactive my module today, as it’s a wonderful add-on for documentation and collaboration. I think it has a great potential for help authoring information, which is important in education and learning or even as internal wiki for organizations or company manuals.

Hi again,

Just checked the download link on the Add-on page.

Are you sure it’s not linking to an older release?

Checking the Wiki module files downloaded, they are much older than my current one. Most files are modified in 2016 while the latest version I have is from around 2017. In the code I see things like m.url are in the code which were removed in some later Wiki version as they are not used in profiles anymore which tells me from a first impression this files are much older.

My version also says it’s 4.0 while the download files say 3.0.1

I’m just re-checking if this is not a mistake and the download link or files are maybe not updated in the add-on page? It seems to be the same version in GitHub, which is very old. I don’t see anything modified past 2016 and the files and code is actually older than my current Wiki module which is version 4.0.0

I’m pinging the team member who uploaded that to see what’s going on. Standby.
