Newly Uploaded Files Within EE are Defaulted to Group: Nobody and Owner: Nobody
How Do I?
Within the last Month or so, I’ve noticed on a few of our sites have had an issue when uploading any image or file (through the File Manager and the Assets Add-on) where the owner and group are being set to “nobody”/”99”.
What script(s) deal with setting the owner and group of newly uploaded files within EE?
Has anyone had this issue and solved it/figured out a work around? There is reference to a similar issue within the EE3 bug reports (#13930), but that link is no longer active.
Quick update for people following along here. We touched base about this one on Slack.
It appears that the owner and group not being set correctly are on the operating system level, as such cullgroup is currently touching base with their web host.

This issue has been resolved! It turned out to be a server issue. The Apache module suexec was not installed, therefore all PHP scripts were being run as user “Nobody”/”99”.
