EE already has the function to notify someone on comments, but this email is very generic. It makes sense for a blog but for some channels on which I want to allow comments, the generic emails makes less sense.
It would be nice to be able to slightly modify this comment template email, or have another one selected for a specific channel, to avoid users confusion on which page or section they are receiving the comment.
Example, I would like to use an admin comment box to notify some members about something specific, and its not really a comment but more an alert which I can keep updating (by adding more comments to that specific channel entry)
That way I can still keep the generic email for regular comments on a forum, blog, etc., but customize it for something that is not really a comment but something different, and it would make more sense to have more information added to that email.
Another example is that you want to notify registered members differently from visitors.
This is probably not a build in function, but it would be nice to have in the future. Be able to pass a tag on EE to inform EE which email template to use for that comment notification.
I strongly support this idea because each channel has a different email, it will be more convenient contexto game for work and avoid sending confused emails between different channels.
I completely agree with the point that the fnf topic wants to transmit to readers.
