Issues on upgrade path from EE 2.5 to 5.0 - can't login- login page reloads
How Do I?
I am starting on a path to get a EE 2.5.5 site up to date with 5.X
Currently upgraded to 2.9.3
Front end seems fine but I am unable to login. It just reload the login page.
Disabled the login redirect that Structure was set for. Cleared Caches prior to upgrade Cleared browser cache
Added the following to config.php $config[‘cookie_domain’] = ‘aktest4.com’; $config[‘admin_session_type’] = ‘s’; $config[‘secure_forms’] = ‘n’;
Added this to login form <input type=”hidden” name=”XID” value=”the xid hash”>
And now I’m out of ideas. Have scoured online but nothing I have found works.
Anybody can help me out?

You covered the main bases- it sounds like it’s not able to set cookies. There should be a period at the beginning of that cookie domain, so that could be it
$config['cookie_domain'] = '.aktest4.com';Make sure extensions are disabled via the config as well.
A lot of times if you use your browser debug and look at the headers, you can see the problem. For example, it might be posting to www and being rewritten to no www and you’re losing the post or something off when it tries to set the cookies. The debug can point you in the right direction.
Added the . to the cookie_domain but that didn’t help.

It’s setting cookies ok and I don’t think you’re losing the post in a redirect.
Are you sure you’re disabling extensions?
$config['allow_extensions'] = 'n';
