I have thousands of images that have manipulations, and I have had to add a “crop” manipulation because folks cant seem to get image ratios matter!
Moving forward this works great for new items, but I would like to ensure that older entries have the cropped option as well.]
Trying this locally to sync in the past has broken it pretty bad. Not sure if there is a way to create the manipulation if “not exists” when the entry is picked up in a query. That way its only on an “as needed” basis and doesn’t exceed server resources and cause a nightmare. Or some other solution that is safe.
I figured it would be a no solution item, but I’ve asked ridiculous questions before to find out that EE had a simple solution.
I went with a Photoshop batch process to crop the 9,995 photos. I think that will do the trick to get me back on point.
Basically just created a basic action for the cropping, then started a batch process saving the files in the _crop folder. Then I will FTP that up to the server and done. I have no idea why I didn’t think of that in the first place!
