assigning fields to groups and channels

When creating/editing a field group or channel, can the relationship UI widget be used so we have an easier way to at least see the fields that were assigned in a much easier way?

I know that the current relationship widget allows for ordering, but i imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to remove that for certain circumstances. Just an idea of how to see what fields are associated in a much easier interface.
