Hey there. Having trouble upgrading. Following all the steps here:
https://docs.expressionengine.com/v3/installation/upgrade_from_2.x.html
Stuck on #5:
“Go to your site’s control panel URL (typically found at http://example.com/admin.php or http://example.com/system/) and follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade ExpressionEngine.”
I can assure you there are no on-screen instructions for upgrading. I’ve been looking for about 2 hours.
Help?
Did you get this fixed?
How the upgrade process works is linked to whether there is an install
directory within the ee system folder. If there is, then you get a ‘do you want to upgrade’ panel appearing rather than a standard login window.
So assuming you’ve still got the standard log in window when you open up the http://example.com/admin.php type page, then this suggests you have not successfully copied the new version of EE across to your server. Best thing to do is to just run through steps 1-4 again and see if that fixes it.
If you are still stuck after that get back with a comment explaining where you are and hopefully it can be sorted out pretty easily.
