I’m making a site locally in full version EE v2, is a way down the line so don’t want to abandon and start over. Now it turns out I don’t need a lot of the functionality of the full version after all I thought I did so am thinking of upgrading to V4 Core.
Is this possible?
I guess the process would be something like:
EE Full v2 -> EE Core v2 Core v2 -> Core v4
Is this feasible? Anyone done it?
Functionality isn’t the only determining factor, so please first check the license to see if it’s an option.
If it is, then to downgrade, all you need to do is to perform a manual update (even if you’re on the current version) using the free Core version’s files. You will obviously lose any functionality that you built with the licensed version (members, email module, Spam module, etc.) but that will successfully downgrade to the Core version.
