Hi,
We have a customer with an old EE2 (v2.7.2 Core) installation, which ee want to upgrade to EE4 standard now.
Can we update from EE2 to EE4 directly? If not and we have to upgrade to EE3 first, where could we get an old version? It seems they are no longer available for download.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
You need to upgrade from 2 to 3, then 3 to 4.
When you upgrade your version 2 license to version 3 license you will have the ability to download the 2.11.9, and 3.5.12 zips, and then when you upgrade from 3 to 4 you’ll be able to access both the 3.5.12 and 4.0.1 zips.
There is not a direct upgrade path from 2 to 4 in terms of the license, and we do recommend upgrading in steps for the fewest issues between versions.
Upgrade from EE2 to EE4
I have the items listed below in my account, however at present I do not have EE installed on any site.
EE2 Discussion Forum Upgrade 3.1.22 (#32304)
Multiple Site Manager (#32304) - 5 sites
ExpressionEngine CMS 2.11.9 (#32304)
2 Additional Sites for existing msm (#17285)
If I click upgrade on Expression Engine CMS I can upgrade to version 3 for $545.00
ExpressionEngine 3 Upgrade
Upgrade (####-####-####-####): $149
Linking msm (####-####-####-####)
With 4 additional sites: $99 each
I do not currently have EE installed on any sites. How can I upgrade to the latest version 4.
Reading the post at https://expressionengine.com/forums/topic/251065/how-to-upgrade-from-ee2-to-ee4
I assume I need to upgrade to version 3, then upgrade again to the latest version 4?
Then I assume that I can just install the latest version of ExpressionEngine, as I don’t have an existing site that needs upgrading?
Best Regards
Dave
