Instant Redirect When Using {exp:member:login_form}

The return parameter for the {exp:member:login_form} should automatically redirect to the specified page and not pass through a stock “Thank You” page for several seconds before redirecting. The current behavior is confusing to site visitors and makes them believe their login was unsuccessful. The proposed behavior will get logged in visitors to their intended / expected content much quicker and with the same amount of ease as other sites: Netflix, Amazon, etc.

Agreed. I have always disliked the system interstitials that are not customizable or optional.
