The site is http://www.roofedge.co.uk/, and the company is currently running 2.9.2 of EE.
I’m not by any stretch a HTML/CSS pro, but I’ve been tasked with giving the company’s site a bit of an overhaul, the only problem is I’ve never worked with a site like it before. I essentially just need to know how to modify the source code/CSS to change that very dark background/sidebar to a lighter colour.
I have full access to the site’s code and Adobe Dreamweaver, if necessary. I’m sure you guys get sick of rookies asking dumb questions, but any help would be -hugely- appreciated. If you need any specific information say and I’ll get it.
Without seeing your code, it should be just a matter of modifying the css file. This file appears to be located at common/css/style.css. Unless there’s some strange setup ExpressionEngine doesn’t have anything to do with your styling as it’s really agnostic of your front-end code.
As a start it looks like changing the background property value for the body element and .outer-solution should do the trick.
That is very easy with css. CSS basic are easy to learn. you can go to codeacademy and learn it in an hour or too of find some references with the other websites like www.22bulbjungle.com .
