Hey there Semco,
Not sure if the following will be helpful in regards to your question, if not feel free clarify and I’ll try to help you more from there:
I’m making assumption that you’re referring to uploading ExpressionEngine to a public area on your web server? If so, have you read through the terms of use information for using the Core version? If you haven’t already you’ll need to know whether your site is commercial or not or for a non-profit organization. Commercial sites may not use the Core version of ExpressionEngine. I’ve pasted in the related paragraph from EllisLab regarding the terms for using the free version of EE along with a link to the terms. https://ellislab.com/expressionengine/license
Core may only be used to power personal and hobby sites that do not engage in commercial activity† and must include a “powered by ExpressionEngine” credit on the website. Non-profit organizations are not eligible. If you are a developer doing pro-bono work for a non-profit org, contact us, we’d be happy to work something out. Please see the License Agreement for details. If you have licensing questions please contact [email protected].
If you’ve already purchased the full version of ExpressionEngine and you need access to your license information. In the menu on this website Go to Account > Manage Purchases. For each license you have you’ll see the license number and some other information, including access to download the software. You can copy and paste that info as needed. You can purchase the full version here https://store.ellislab.com/
Hope this helps, Reuben
