Before and after images for each entry

How Do I?

I have a channel for “projects”, and each project has multiple before and after images associated with it. What would be the best way of organizing this in terms of channel fields? I’m currently using the Channel Images (CI) addon to manage images.

I thought using EE’s Grid or P&T’s Matrix would be ideal, but CI doesn’t seem to be compatible with either. I could technically use Grid with the File fieldtype, but it obviously wouldn’t have the adaptive capabilities of CI.

The only thing I could think of was to create two separate CI fields, one for before and one for after, but how would I link each image to its counterpart?

The channel images addon will do this, it has a kind of ‘grid’ field built into it

When setting up a CI field take a look at the tabs, you can create categories for images (though you might not even need this). The CI field lets you have as many images as you want with a single field. you can even set up custom fields for each image. It will also auto generate different sized images for you for thumbnails etc For example you could add a class field and simply type ‘before’ and ‘after’ (or use the categories).

also set up the field to display as ‘table’ (small radio buttons at the top of the field options area) this will definitely make things easier to handle.

But each row can only have one image. Sure I could make it so that the user can manually set the category of each image to either “before” or “after”, but then how do I get the system to determine which is associated with which?
