updating from 2.5.5 to 2.9.3 or 2.10.1, ERROR 1048 Column 'field_id_14' cannot be null

I’m trying to update from Expression Engine 2.5.5 to 2.10.1 and I get this error:

A Database Error Occurred Error Number: 1048 Column ‘field_id_14’ cannot be null UPDATE `exp_channel_data` SET `field_id_14` = NULL Filename: D:\site\system\codeigniter\system\database\DB_driver.php Line Number: 382

I’ve searched the forums and didn’t see this issue mentioned.

As a test I tried updating from 2.5.5 to 2.9.3 and got the same error message.
