I am having a problem getting full access to my EE cPanel and have been in touch with my Hosting company about this. They were unable to give a solution. I have copied my email to them, and their reply below. Help needed !

Dear #####,

While working on my ExpressionEngine installation on ######### I have been getting the error message below.

“Forbidden You don’t have permission to access /admin.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

This was while doing some stuff on the Admin side. From what I have been told it has something to do with the security settings on the server. I find it a bit confusing as I have been able to do quite a number of things on the admin side, but one action so far has thrown up this error message.

Recently I wished to delete some members email addreess’s for spamming. This seemed to go OK and when I searched for the banned email address it was no longer found. But, I also tried to change the default website that people are redirected to if they are from a banned ISP.

It currently defaults to Yahoo. It was when I tried to change this that I got error message above Please advise

Copied below is the reply that I received. Can anyone help with this ?

Thank you for writing in.

Please note that the error you are seeing is due to the firewall settings enabled in the server. Please find the log below.

Remote File Injection attempt in ARGS (admin.php)

Since it is a shared server we cannot alter the firewall rules. We recommend you to proceed with your earlier settings. Feel free to get back to us for further assistance.

Best regards,

Situation corrected. This is the explanation that I received from my Host

“The issue was with mod_security rules, currently we have white listed some ID’s that cause the problem”

In order for them to do this I had to provide them with my Admin details so that they could login and try it for themselves. I sent them a screen shot (attached) of the page where I was trying to change the page that people from banned ISP’s were sent to. It was when changing this and then hitting the submit button, that I was getting the error message.
