Multiple Site Manager

I’ve been following the online documentation on installing and configuring additional sites with Multiple Site Manager.

[X] Installed MSM [X] Subdomain/DNS [X] Create New Site w/ Import

I get to Step 3 on this documentation page: https://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/sites/createsite.html

Admin ‣ General Configuration: Update the System Preferences for the new Site. At a minimum, you will change the URL to the root directory.

I edit the “URL to the root directory of your site” and Submit, but reverts to the default site URL every time. I cannot seem to get the URL root dir for the new site to stick.

I ensure that I am in the subsite dashboard. I ensure that the appropriate directories and files have the proper permissions.

What could be causing this?

I have root access to this server and can make any necessary changes.
