Something changing URLS when clicking in search or pagination

Hey guys,

New to expression engine and have inherited someones old system in my job, but one problem I keep having is that when people click say search results or even some pagination links, a new segment is added to the URL which makes things go haywire.

For example, when clicking on the pagination links in a search result page I would expect:

https://www.sample.com/search/results/search&keywords=life/P15

However what I might get is

https://www.sample.com/S=de286fnw8r7ayu05d15ea75722f8fdedc00c8d7/search/results/search&keywords=life/P15

It sometimes works but then each time you go to the next set of pagination links it adds yet another “S=…” hash as segment one, pushing everything else in the URL down a segment. It must be some module or something but I haven’t for the life of me been able to figure it out. Any advice?

Very new to ExpressionEngine so apologies if this isn’t clear.
