Entries with the Same Title

We have some issues with a site we built about 1 year ago, the issue is pretty difficult to describe but I will try and break it down. I am using EE 2.7.3, Structure 3.3.14.5 and Transcribe 1.5 as well as a few other add-ons.

The issue we are having is with entries that have the same title, I understand that EE will give entries with the same title different urls but does that show up in the Structure tab? And does that show up in the url itself? As when I look at it the url title in the Structure tab and the url itself it has not been altered - a 1 added for example. The section of the site we are having issues with is the ‘Latest Jobs’ section, some of these jobs have the same title but when two jobs have the same title and 1 of those jobs’ status is closed and one is open the open one does not display online, we just get a blank page, but if I delete the closed entry with the same title the open entry will be displayed. Is this normal behaviour? And if so do I need to ask my client to delete all entries once they are closed?

So to summarise: - 2 entries with the same title. - 1 closed and 1 open. - The open entry wont display until the closed entry has been deleted. - The url and the Structure tab do not show different url titles for the entries.

Any help you can offer would be great.
