I am building a site with an archive of entries, and I am having an issue with the “Entry Date” field where dates prior to 1970 are not being saved correctly.
For example, I am trying to set date for an entry as January 18, 1964 12:00 PM. If I use the default format or the datepicker tool, the date field should be set as “1/18/64 12:00 PM”. The problem is that when I save the entry, the date is saved as “1/18/38 10:14 PM”.
I can work around this issue by formatting the entry date as “1964-01-18 12:00 PM”. This will let me save the date initially, but I have to reset the date anytime I make edits to the entry.
I looked through the forms, but I didn’t see anyone else having this exact problem. Is this a bug or are there any other workarounds I should look into? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, Kenton
I just figured out what was going on here. First, I needed to update the “default date formatting” in Admin > Localization Settings to the ISO format. Then, I need to set “Allow members to set their own localization preferences?” to “No” in Members > Member Preferences.
Now the date formatting is working perfectly.
