Plugin for Image Gallery
How Do I?
First time user here - I’m looking for a good plugin to implement a simple image gallery. I currently already have Matrix in the works, but I need something to do the following:
- a “gallery” or set of photos with thumbnail size
- a larger version of a default thumbnail photo
- clicking on a thumbnail changes the photo of the larger photo
Anything like this? Thanks!
You can do this natively with expressionengine to some extent. Inside the file preferences setup there are options at the bottom of the page to set up auto manipulations of uploaded images (e.g. auto thumb nails). Then using a jQuery plugin like Fancy box you could link to the original (or large auto sized image) from the auto generated thumbnail.

EE will only handle the ‘back-end’ side of things to output to the ‘front-end’ for you to do what ever you wish with HTML/CSS/JS.
Also Matrix could be swapped for EE’s native ‘Grid’ field but they work mostly the same. And for more control over your images ‘Channel Images’ is a Really good plugin.
