System Path issue of switching servers

Hi Guys

Just had my site migrated from Enginehosting to Arcustech, and site appears fine so DB is set correctly, and although all other files are as they were (system folder) I have not been able to log into my CP to update my prefferences so have set these in the config file. After I log into the CP login page the page just hangs and hangs and nothing happens. Is this a DB issue?
