Radio buttons with comments

Hi,

When adding new entries via the CP, I need to create radio button fields with descriptive labels, but store simple integers in the database. How can this be done?

For example, I need a field to specify units. I would like two radio buttons with the labels “metric” and “imperial”, but in the database I want to store either 1 or 2 to remember the selection.

Similar for months of the year, etc.

The reason for this is so that I can display the site in different languages, where things like names of months etc are different.
