Previous/Next tags inside the channel entries tags: hack ideas?

How Do I?

Dear CrowdMind,

According to the docs here: https://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/add-ons/channel/entry_linking.html, the previous/next tags corresponding to a channel entry “cannot be placed inside your main Channel Entries Tag.” I would really prefer to have them inside the main tags, or more specifically between the main text and the comments corresponding to the entry, which are also within the main tags.

Any suggested hacks/ideas for this? I’ve tried php buffering a pair of tags from above the main tags, but that didn’t work for some reason. I’m pretty new to EE so I might be overlooking something obvious.

Sorry if this has been answered before, I’ve searched but didn’t find anything definitive.

Misha
