Discussion Forum Module Pains

I’m creating my own theme for the discussion forum module - which is turning out to be the second biggest mistake. First being, paying for it.

Having said that - if I use any of the default themes - the links don’t work. Links like Member profiles, Private Messages etc… I get “Page does not exist” errors.

What am I missing - other than the opportunity to go back in time and not buy this crap?

/cases/949714147/1/ - where cases is the URL segment for the forum module. I’m using Zoo Visitor but encoding the logged in member_id does not work in the forum module.

Ignore my frustration. How can I get profile links to work (go to the right user)?
