Hi all
Got a really weird one here. I’m using the default control panel theme and have deployed my local development. The problem I have is the button on the main navigation that takes you to actual site is still pointing to my local dev environment. I’ve followed every step I needed to but it’s still not working.
I’ve obviously missed something but I’m at a loss.
Can someone help please?
Thanks
When I move a site from my local development to the destination server I use this tutorial: http://www.creat-ee.com/tutorials/more/migrating_your_ee_site_to_live_server
What you need is the addon REElocate: http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/reelocate
Often when you are developing an EE site, you will have it running on a test URL or test server, while your client edits content, tests features etc.
When you move to the production location, you find out that ExpressionEngine stores your sites URL in hundreds of places, as well as the server path (document root). OK, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but on average REElocate finds over 30 settings which need updating. Worse, these are spread between many different configuration pages all over the place - from regular settings, channel settings, upload settings etc… the list goes on.
I hoop it helps you.
Francois
