When logged in as a non-admin user, I am unable to change the author when editing an entry by selecting a new author in the author dropdown on the entry “options” tab.
(The logged in members user group setting “Can change the author name when posting channel entries” is set to Yes)
When I change the author and click “Save and close” I am not returned to the entry list and the change is not saved. And there is no green tick or warning displayed.
When I change the author and click “Save” the change is not saved. And there is no green tick or warning displayed.
Is this a known issue? Are there other setting(s) required for this to work?
Regards
I tried setting “Can edit entries authored by others” to Yes and this does let me save a different author name. However setting this to Yes now displays all authors entries in the edit entries list. And our client only wants users to see entries that the currently logged in user has authored.
Does anyone know of a way to allow users to change the author of entries and still only see their entries in the edit entries list?
Regards, SImon
To summarize my member group settings are:
-Can view channel entries authored by others: No
-Can edit entries authored by others: Yes
-Can change the author name when posting channel entries: Yes
The member group setting “Can view channel entries authored by others” is set to “No” Unfortunately it looks like this setting does not control the display of entries in the entry edit list as despite this being set to “No” I can still see entries authored by everyone. (And I can also edit them).
The Member group documentation regarding “Can view channel entries authored by others” http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/members/member_groups_edit.html “Determines whether a member of the group is allowed to view channel entries that have been authored by someone else. Note: One entries within channels assigned to the user (see below) apply.”
