Word Limit plugin with expand/collapse ability?

I am using the Word Limit plugin and would like to have the remaining content expand (or collapse) rather than linking to a single entry page.

Something like this - http://plugins.learningjquery.com/expander/demo/index.html

I can’t get it to work with channel entries. Does anyone have a code sample of how to do this?
