Can't post to EE Forum 3.1.8 even as Super Admin

Hey Guys,

I installed the EE Forum 3.1.8 and now I can’t post, edit, create or update anything on the frontend as a super admin. I get a permission error on everything. I set it back to the “default” theme just to make sure I wasn’t causing that error in my custom theme. No Joy.

Thanks, David

This is only happening in my local environment. I just pushed it up to a dev server and things work as expected.

Out of curiosity, can you try posting a comment on the same site in your local environment?

My guess why it’s happening is because your local machine is identifying as having an IPv6 IP. A quick way to test it is by dropping this into your config file:

$config['require_ip_for_posting'] = 'n';

It’s something we’ll be working on for 2.5.1 because IPv6 starts getting rolled out June 6th.

Thanks Wes,

This did the trick:

$config[‘require_ip_for_posting’] = ‘n’;

Best, David
