Hi there,

migrating sites from development to live (and back) is bugging me for a long time. Maybe you can give me some insights on how you handle this…

  1. I know there are addons that address some problems with server path etc. what do you use? Any issues on upgrading the core?

  2. What is a practical approach to securely migrate? For the moment I keep track of a live site version by placing a dump and the full site locally in a folder with the date and version number. But it is not easy to roll back and forth.

  3. I know ruby does a good job with deployment, is there something comparable for ee?

Maybe you can give me some insights on your approach, any help is appreciated…

Cheers

Lars
