Uploading file from AIR application

In a current project, we’re using EE as a backend for different AIR applications, and one of these applications are going to upload files and create entries in EE.

Today I created some prototype templates & we tried to do a test, but the programmer told me that he needs to base64-encode the file to be able to upload it.

I’m using SafeCracker + SafeCracker File at the moment. Is there a way to do this, or is there any hooks that can be used to add a parameter?

Does the upload_file function in the Filemanager library have this ability already?

Hi Fred,

That’s not something provided with the stock SafeCracker File field, but since that’s a fieldtype and not written into the core, you could use it as a base and extend that fieldtype to include whatever encoding you need to. Does that work for you?
