I am developing a module - which DOES NOT require a tab area with the CP.

Installed module fine. But now when I try and publish any content of any type - I get

An Error Was Encountered
Unable to load requested publish tab file: tab.<mymodulename>.php

in the Control Panel - Why is this the case if the tab file is optional?

Did you set the ‘has_publish_fields’ option to ‘y’ when installing the module? Check your module’s install settings array for that.

Many Thanks Erik - that was the issue. Sorted. I had misunderstood ‘has_publish_fields’ and had put in ‘y’ as a default. I had assumed (wrongly) because I am going to have some CP panels where forms to add data were going to be present that this was to be ‘y’. I did not associate it with the optional tab area.

Thanks again.
