Feature Request: More usable Session library

I’d love to see the existing Session library be brought to parity with the CI library: the ability to set userdata, keep persistent sessions, and store sessions/userdata in the database. Right now we have to use PHP sessions, or a custom session solution. Having a centralized, core api for dealing with sessions will make our projects easier to build, more secure, and more stable.
