I need to be able to populate a multiple-select box that lists all of my channels/pages dynamically.

The need is based on giving the client the ability to create entries in a callout channel and select the page(s) that the callout would display on.

Sounds like a job for Playa, or if it’s just a simple list of entries that don’t need to be filterable/searchable then maybe give The Selectatron a shot.

Thanks iain but after looking at The Selectatron I’m wondering if I properly explained my issue.

I want to have a multi-select box that lists all of my channels on the publish page. That way if an editor creates a callout (sidebox) they could have it display on the dashboard, or the products page or both. Essentially it would just be a way to relate the callout with a page.

If The Selectatron can in fact do that, let me know cause I missed it.

Do you mean “Channels” or “Channel entries”?

If you want to select entries, then yes that’s what The Selectatron and Playa do.

I want it based on channels actually just incase they add a blog at some point. I came across the SP Table Select http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/sp-table-select/ that looks like it would do exactly what I need. It’s a little over kill, but who knows, it might come in handy later on in the project too.

Thanks for the responses though.

Yeah, looks like that would do the job, but tbh I’d just make a checkbox group with manually created values rather than introducing further add-ons.

Channels generally don’t get added without developer input so when adding channels just add another option to the list of checkboxes.

Your right that likely is a cleaner way of handling the problem. My only issue is that I’m new to EE2 and on a deadline. I’m not sure if I could get up to speed on writing my own extension fast enough.
