This is more of a general “how would you do that”, I’m not looking for full blown answers, more of just a point in the right direction 😊
So I’ve built a codeigniter app, about a year ago. I’m now re-doing my public site with expression engine. I am wondering if it’s possible to create some kind of a backend area that could connect to my app database and pull out information related to my users. Would this be a module, plugin, accessory? I can read the dev docs myself, just not sure what the best way to go would be. I envision it to be a link in the main navigation of the EE backend.
Thanks for any direction!

i asked a similar question a while back: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/177804/
the immediate answer is no, but I’m planning on just creating a new template, locking it down to superadmins and adding a link in the CP homepage.
if you come across a better solution please holler!
