Erik, I think you’re right here.. the page itself doesn’t change.. not even the links that each weblog entry posts to. That said why not use an add-on that caches the page?

The only other thought was maybe it’s time to try some custom queries vs. the standard EE tags - so you can pare them down to just exactly what you need to return.
I was thinking about that – but I’m not sure how that would work with LinkLocker or Favorites modules. Maybe it doesn’t matter. But even if I got the site to load in under 10 seconds that’s still way too long. I think caching is the only way to go. Fortunately for me, I don’t have anything that changes so caching the templates is certainly the best way to go. Thanks for the additional input Boyink!
